Seeing McDavid over 1.5 points at -110 for tonight's Oilers @ Leafs game. Toronto's been bleeding goals lately - 3.8 per game allowed in their last 7, and their penalty kill is sitting at 71.2% over that same stretch.

McDavid's hit this prop in 6 of his last 9 games, including both meetings against Toronto this season (2+1 in October, 1+2 in December). The line opened at -125 this morning and has moved to -110, which usually indicates some sharp money on the over.

Key factors I'm seeing:

  • Oilers powerplay converting at 28.4% over last 10 games
  • Leafs giving up 4+ goals in 5 of last 7 home games
  • McDavid averaging 2.1 points per game vs Atlantic Division teams this season

Anyone else tracking this line movement? The under is sitting at -120 which seems like dead money to me given Toronto's defensive struggles.

You're missing the context here. That 3.8 goals against is heavily skewed by two blowout losses where they gave up 6 and 5 goals respectively. Take those out and they're at 2.4 per game in the other 5.

More importantly, McDavid's been ice cold at 5v5 lately - just 2 even strength points in his last 6 games. If the Leafs stay disciplined and don't give him powerplay opportunities, this becomes a much tougher prop. Toronto's actually been better at home limiting high-danger chances, they just had some brutal goaltending performances that inflated those numbers.

Hit this exact prop last week when McDavid torched the Rangers for 3 points. The line movement you're seeing is real - I've been tracking it across three different books and they're all moving toward the over. Started the morning at BetOnline with -125, now sitting at -108 there.

Here's what sealed it for me: McDavid's road splits this season are insane. He's averaging 2.3 points per game away from Edmonton, compared to 1.8 at home. Something about playing in different buildings just elevates his game. Against Eastern Conference teams specifically, he's hit 1.5+ points in 11 of 15 games.

The Leafs defense has been a sieve, but even if they tighten up, McDavid finds ways. Remember that game in Boston where the Bruins were playing perfect defense? He still managed 1+1 because elite players create their own opportunities. I'm riding this line hard tonight - already placed my bet this afternoon when it was still at -115.

Been following McDavid props all season and there's something you guys are overlooking. Toronto's been rotating their defensive pairs differently since Rielly came back from injury. They're actually putting their shutdown pair (Rielly-Tanev) specifically against McDavid's line in home games.

Watched the December meeting live and McDavid was frustrated all night. Got his points on the powerplay and one garbage time assist, but at 5v5 he was held to just 3 shots. The Leafs have figured out how to contain him at Scotiabank Arena - they use the long change in the second period to keep their top defensive pair out there against his line.

That 71.2% penalty kill number is misleading too. They've actually killed off 8 straight penalties in their last 3 home games. The early season struggles were personnel-based, but they've settled into a rhythm now.

Honestly not sure about this one! 😅 McDavid is obviously amazing but -110 seems steep for a guy who's been held under 1.5 points in 3 of his last 9. The Leafs might be leaky but they still have talent back there.

Maybe I'm just being too cautious but I learned my lesson chasing star player props earlier this season. Lost too much on Pastrnak goal props when he went cold for two weeks. Sometimes the obvious play isn't the right play? 🤷‍♀️

The line movement is telling the story here. Sharp money doesn't move lines from -125 to -110 without good reason. I've been tracking McDavid's performance in back-to-back situations this season and he's actually been better on the second night - 2.4 points per game compared to 1.9 on the first night of B2Bs.

What really stands out is Toronto's tendency to take penalties when they're chasing the game. They've been whistled for 4+ minor penalties in 6 of their last 8 games, and McDavid's powerplay production has been elite. At MyStake they're offering McDavid over 0.5 powerplay points at +185, which might be the better value play if you think Toronto's discipline issues continue.

This might be a dumb question but how do you track line movements across different books? I'm still pretty new to this and trying to learn the best strategies.

Also, when you say McDavid has better road splits, does that include his assists too or just goals? I'm trying to understand if the 1.5 points includes both or if it's more goal-heavy. Thanks for any help! 🙏

WinnipegJack's line movement point is backwards - sharp money moved it FROM -110 TO -125, not the other way around. The juice getting worse means public money is hammering McDavid and books are protecting themselves.

That 3.8 goals against for Toronto is misleading because it includes that 7-3 disaster against Buffalo where Samsonov imploded. Strip that outlier and they're at 2.9 goals against in the other 6 games. McDavid still gets his points but -110 is dead money when the defense tightened up after the coaching staff adjustments last week.
