Looking at the Raptors team total O/U 109.5 against Golden State tomorrow night but Barnes has been limited in practice the last two days with knee soreness. Toronto's averaging 112.3 points per game over their last 8 but Barnes accounts for 19.9 PPG and 7.8 assists in that stretch.

Warriors defense has tightened up recently - they've held 4 of their last 6 opponents under 108 points at Chase Center. If Barnes sits or plays restricted minutes, that's a significant chunk of Toronto's offense potentially missing.

The line opened at 111.5 and has dropped to 109.5, so the market seems to be factoring in the Barnes uncertainty. Anyone tracking his practice status or have thoughts on how much his absence would impact this total?

Had a similar situation last month with the Nuggets team total when Jokic was questionable with back tightness. Ended up playing but was clearly not himself - shot 4-12 and had just 3 assists compared to his usual 9.2 per game. Denver went under their 113.5 total by 8 points even though he technically played 32 minutes.

Barnes is different than Jokic obviously, but when a primary playmaker is compromised, it ripples through the entire offense. Raptors rely heavily on Barnes creating for others - his usage rate is 28.4% over the last 10 games. If he's limited or sits, that's a lot of possessions that need to be redistributed to guys like Trent and Anunoby who aren't natural facilitators.

I'm leaning under 109.5 here. The Warriors have been solid defensively at home lately, and Toronto without a healthy Barnes becomes much more predictable offensively. They'll probably rely more on isolation plays and contested jumpers rather than the ball movement that gets them easy buckets.

The numbers support your concern. Barnes has a 31.2% assist rate when he plays 30+ minutes, but when he's under 25 minutes (injury management games), Toronto's offensive rating drops from 116.8 to 108.3 per 100 possessions.

Warriors are also 7-3 ATS at home when facing teams on back-to-backs this season. Toronto played Memphis two nights ago and looked gassed in the fourth quarter. Fatigue plus a potentially hobbled Barnes could be a recipe for offensive struggles.

I've been tracking this line movement on Tonybet and it's dropped another half point since this morning. Sharp money seems to be hammering the under.

You're overthinking this. Barnes played through worse knee issues earlier this season and still dropped 24 and 9 assists against Phoenix. Kid's tough and the Raptors medical staff wouldn't risk him if it was serious.

Warriors defense isn't that impressive - they gave up 118 to Sacramento and 121 to the Lakers in their last two home games. This under play is classic overthinking a minor injury report.

The injury angle is valid but consider Toronto's pace when Barnes is limited. They actually play faster - 102.1 possessions per 48 minutes compared to 98.7 when he's running the offense normally. More possessions can offset some efficiency loss.

Also worth noting Golden State's defensive metrics are inflated by playing weaker offensive teams recently. They faced Detroit, Portland, and Charlotte in a 4-game span where those teams were missing key players.

I'm seeing better value on BetOnline where they still have 110.5 available. The market overreaction to practice reports creates opportunities.

Looking at the advanced metrics, Barnes' knee issues could actually benefit the over. When he's not facilitating as much, Toronto's three-point attempt rate increases from 34.2% to 41.8%. They're shooting 38.1% from deep over the last 5 games.

Warriors rank 23rd in defending the three-point line at home this season. If Toronto compensates for Barnes' reduced playmaking by launching more threes, they could still hit their total even with lower overall efficiency.

This reminds me of a brutal beat I had last February with the Heat team total when Jimmy Butler was listed as probable with ankle soreness. I figured he'd play through it like he always does, so I hammered the over 108.5. Butler ended up playing 41 minutes but was clearly favoring the ankle - took just 11 shots compared to his usual 18-20 attempts.

What killed me wasn't just Butler's reduced aggression, it was how Miami's entire offensive flow changed. They went away from their usual pick-and-roll heavy attack and relied more on isolation plays for Herro and Lowry. The pace slowed down significantly and they scored just 96 points in a game that went to overtime.

Barnes might be tougher than Butler in some ways, but knee soreness affects lateral movement and explosiveness. If he can't attack the rim with his usual burst, Toronto's offense becomes much more perimeter-oriented. Against a Warriors team that's been decent at contesting threes lately, that could spell trouble for the over. Sometimes the obvious play based on injury reports is actually the right play, even if it feels too easy.
